Super Eagles Display Team Picture and Flight Attire

– Super Eagles Display Team Picture and Flight Attire
Latest pictures obtained from Nigeria’s Super Eagles camp indicate that the team is ready to depart for Russia 2018 World Cup. A caption of the team’s picture posted on its Twitter handle (@NGSuperEagles) states: “Ready for Russia. Team picture”.

Similarly, has reported that the team is set to wear unique “Naija” – flavored attire when they fly to Russia on Monday, for the 2018 World Cup.

The report states that: “The Eagles were poised to wear the attire during their visit to President Muhammadu Buhari last month but the stylist reportedly failed to meet the deadline set by the Nigerian Football Federation, a camp source revealed to CSN.

The white native attire has green embroidery of the Super Eagles emblem on the chest. The white trousers and predominantly white tunic go with white shoes with knots of green at the top to match.
A white South-South style hat completes the dashing outfit.”

Fans of the Super Eagles would be hoping that the team’s “dashing outfit” especially  its jersey, would equally produce dashing and fruitful results at the competition. The team lost 1-0 to Czech Republic last Wednesday, in its final friendly warm up match for Russia 2018.

It would be recalled that Nigeria’s jersey was reportedly voted in a recent poll conducted by Sky Sports  as the best jersey of teams that would partake at Russia 2018 World Cup.

However, attires do not play football. Neither is the World Cup competition a fashion parade. As usual, the competition would require  grit, sterner stuff and dashing skills from members of all participating teams. Nigeria would need to exhibit all of these, including harmony and good team work, to make appreciable impact in Russia.

Meanwhile, the team would train behind closed doors today, at their Avita Resort, Bad Tanzmannsdorf camp, in Austria. A post from @NGSuperEagles states: “Our training session at the Avita Resort, Bad Tatzmannsdorf today, will be behind closed doors. No fans will be allowed in and no media coverage is needed. #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong”.

Another announcement on the Twitter handle of Nigeria Football Federation (@thenff) states that the National team of Austria visited the Super Eagles during their training session yesterday. According to the announcement, the Austrian team was led by David Alaba, “a Nigerian by blood”.

Odion Ighalo, Super Eagles’ player

In a related development, another post on @thenff has advised against fake news, against the backdrop of reports of a dispute between team Captain, Mikel Obi, and Vice Captain, Ogenyi Onazi. The post states: “Avoid fake news. Earlier in training Captain Mikel, and Vice Captain Onazi #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong”.

A video clip of Mikel and Onazi is shown, exchanging friendly banters. The video clip ends with Onazi teasingly saying: “This cup when dem de say we no go carry am, we go carry am!”

Nigeria would begin her quest to “carry” the World Cup in Russia next Saturday, with a match against Croatia.
