“I Intend to Raise 66 Millionaires”, says Senatorial Aspirant
As the countdown to the 2019 general election gathers momentum in Nigeria, Anthony Bisong Attah has announced that he intends to raise at least 66 millionaires from his constituency, if he gets elected into Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber as a representative of Cross River State’s Central Senatorial District.

Until recently, Anthony Bisong Attah was a Lecturer at Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa. He attracted widespread public attention in December 2017, when he resigned from that job and published his letter of resignation on Facebook. He claimed that he took that unusual step in order “to draw the attention of the entire world to the rot at the College”.

Anthony Bisong has now joined active politics and intends to vie for election into Nigeria’s Senate on the platform of Young Progressive Party (YPP). He posted the first part of his economic blueprint on his Facebook timeline, yesterday.

Here is the blueprint:

Let me start by saying that I am not into politics for the purpose of fanfare or to decorate myself with a new designation or paraphernalia. On the contrary, I am in it to change the status quo ante by doing things differently.

One of my deepest desires is to build men and not to raise ‘boys’ as the tradition has been. I intend to teach people how to fish and not necessarily give people fish. To this end, I intend to raise at least 66 millionaires (not less than one from each ward) in Central Senatorial District.

As a businessman myself, I have earmarked different business ventures to engage the youths, men and women in my Senatorial District, if elected. One of such businesses is to establish Grazing Ranches in designated LGAs in Central Senatorial District and then recruit and train indigenous peoples in Animal husbandry, especially Cattle rearing.

I intend to employ experts in Cattle grazing from Brazil in partnership with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and Bank of Industry, under Public Private Partnership to recruit and train interested constituents in Cattle rearing, Goatry, Piggery, Poultry and related fields. With wide expanse of grazable land in Boki, Ikom, Obubra and Yakurr, this business initiative can employ over 500 indigenes.

It is hoped that when fully harnessed, this venture will have the potentials of producing meat that can cater for the entire South South Nigeria. At that point, we would have quietly and gradually retired the dreaded herdsmen back to their cocoons while our people smile daily to the bank.

It is possible!
It is do-able!
I have the capacity!
We have the manpower!
