A video showing a male Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Officer fighting with a woman along Jalingo-Wukari route in Taraba State, Nigeria, is currently trending online.

Although Bisi Kazeem, Public Education Officer of FRSC has released an official statement that condemns the action of FRSC personnel involved in that incident, this has not stopped the video from going viral in the social media.

It would be recalled that in July this year, a similar “scandalous video” showing a female Officer of FRSC trended online. In that video, the female Officer was seen struggling with a driver of a moving vehicle, while a passenger in the front seat of that vehicle recorded the scene. That passenger and the driver struggled with the female Officer, as she tried to pull the handbrake of the vehicle from where she was seated at the back.

The video also showed an FRSC patrol van behind, in pursuit of the vehicle. When the patrol van caught up with the vehicle, a male FRSC Officer jumped out of it and shattered the front window on the passenger side of that vehicle.

Following the release of that video and public condemnation of the incident, the FRSC promised to investigate the authenticity of the video and take appropriate action against offenders.

Similarly, the FRSC has promised to take appropriate action against affected personnel in this latest video. Bisi Kazeem has reportedly stated that an investigatory team has been set up and affected personnel have been ordered to appear before the Federal Road Safety Corp Disciplinary Panel at zone 3 headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State, to face charges of fighting and action unbecoming of Officers and gentlemen of the Corp.
