Wenger and Buhari, Beyond Us, says Reno Omokri

Wenger and Buhari’s Cases are Beyond Us, says Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri, former Special Assistant on New Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, has taken to his twitter account to compare Arsenal Football Club of England’s Manager, Arsene Wenger, to President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria.

Shortly after Arsenal’s massive loss this evening to Liverpool Football club  in a week 3 match of this season’s English premiership competition, Reno Omokri posted the following comments on his twitter handle @renoomokri:

“When Wenger manages your club and @Mbuhari presides over your country your case should be escalated to God because it is beyond man!”

In another tweet, Omokri asked: “What would you call a man whose team manager is Wenger, whose president is@Mbuhari, whose Governor is Rochas and whose pastor is Mbaka?”

Apparently, Omokri referred to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, a prominent Nigerian Catholic Priest, in that tweet. Although it is not clear why he compared these men to Coach Arsene Wenger of England, this may not be unconnected to politics.

Wenger’s team placed 5th in last season’s English premiership league table and failed to qualify for the UEFA champions league for the first time in his career as manager of that club. However, the team won last season’s FA cup in England and the Community shield to herald the beginning of this season. They have won one match and lost two including this evening’s loss, in the current season.

Governor Okorocha belongs to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party in Nigeria, while Reverend Father Mbaka is a Catholic Clergy who consistently preached against Goodluck Jonathan’s government before the 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria.

Reno Omokri has remained a consistent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
